Chalcogenide Glass
ChG
Moldable, low-dn/dT chalcogenide glasses (IRG / GASIR / IG equivalents) for compact thermal lens assemblies and IR sensing.

Used in
Thermal imaging lens assemblies, industrial radiation measurement, fiber coupling and infrared sensing from 1 to 14 µm.
- IRG206 example: PV 0.4 µm, RMS 0.1 µm at Ø100 mm
- Cross-referenced to Schott, Umicore, Vitron, Amorphous
- Aspheres for athermal MWIR/LWIR camera modules

Questions buyers ask
- Which chalcogenide glass is equivalent to GASIR or IG2?
- Use the cross-reference table on this page. For example Ge33As12Se55 maps to NHG IRG201, Schott IRG22, Umicore GASIR-1, Vitron IG2 and Amorphous AMTIR-1.
- Are chalcogenide lenses cheaper than ZnSe for thermal cameras?
- For compact, athermal MWIR/LWIR camera modules, molded or polished chalcogenide aspheres often reduce element count versus ZnSe. Send the EFL, F/# and band and we will recommend.
- What AR coating is standard on chalcogenide glass?
- AR + AR 8–12 µm, AR + AR 8–14 µm and HD + AR 8–12 µm. Witness-coupon curves ship with the lot.
